Funny how in all of my [three] journal entries, I've been obsessing over one or more J-pop singers. Notice how I say three, because this one is also about a new singer I just discovered. Her name is Stephanie, or at least that's her stage name. She just debuted in the end of May (May 30, 2007 to be precise ) with "Kimi ga iru Kagiri". The title song is pretty much a "standard" ballad. But I'm a sucker for ballads, especially if they're Japanese, and sung with a pretty voice. Some people are moaning and groaning and complaining about how ugly she is, and how her voice isn't that good. Well, the people that say those things are just plain stupid. She's definitely no Yuna Ito, look-wise, but I think she's rather pretty, and she has an amazing voice. She can hit those high notes like it's absolutely nothing. She also co-wrote all three songs on her debut single. And, seeing as how she's only 19, that is pretty damn good. 19! Her voice is very strong, and I really hope her future CDs have a greater success than this one. It didn't even make it into the top 50 on the Oricon charts, and it's sold like 1,000 copies. Well, soon 1,001 since I'm going to buy it. And you should too. Call me a walking, or typing, advertisement, but the CD really is worth it.
